On the beach of Tel Aviv, on the strip of beach between the Carlton Hotel and the Hilton Hotel, there is the most scenic and romantic sunset spot in Tel Aviv, known as “Hilton Hill”. This little hill, right above the much larger “Independence Garden” park, overlooks the Mediterranean Sea and is the perfect place to complete a day of exploring.
In recent years, the hill has become an attractive destination for fitness training for those who squat in front of the sea, but at the same time a quiet corner from which you can watch the waves crashing on the breakwater.
The benches next to the pilots’ monument (in memory of the pilots of the War of Independence) that were placed on the hill 60 years ago are perhaps the most romantic spot in the city. In recent years, it has become a bit more crowded, mainly by tourists who pass by to admire the spectacular view on the hill – which stretches from Jaffa to Herzliya – but the romantic atmosphere that can be felt in the air has not yet disappeared from the place. Cyclists will be able to enjoy a cycling route that reaches up to the hill itself – and even continues further down to the beach.
As we said, the best thing about the place is the view of the open sea and the noise of the waves, so naturally, it is best to come here at sunset. Bring some wine and chill out on the grass while enjoying the live music (usually on weekends).
Another Park near the beach: Charles Clore Park
Hilton Beach
And let’s not forget the nearby beach. The name of the beach, with its young character, indicates its location, next to the Hilton hotel. The beach is located in the center of the service road between ‘Metzitzim’ beach and the marina.
The beach has optimal access for the public, and this is the most accessible beach for the disabled in the country. The northern part of the beach is open for dogs to enter. The southern beach is declared as the No. 1 surfing beach in the country: today, lighting lanterns have been installed to allow even night surfing.
