Everyone knows Nahal Amud (“Amud Stream”). This is one of the most popular hiking areas in Israel, which include lovely hiking trails suitable for everyone (including part 6 and 7 of the Israel National Trail). But have you heard of Nahal Amud Campsite? Maybe not, which is a shame.
This is a nice and comfortable overnight campsite, located right next to the Nature and Parks Authority service center at the entrance to Nahal Amud. It is located in the heart of a nature reserve, overlooking the city of Safed, close to the Israel National Trail and the Sea to Sea Trail – and offers a natural and wonderful camping experience.
The campsite offers accommodation based on private tents. In addition, you can rent a family camping tent set up by the campsite staff (it includes mattresses, and is suitable for about four people staying in a tent).

In The Area
What’s left to say about Nahal Amud that we have not already written?
Nahal Amud Nature Reserve is considered one of the most popular in Israel, and rightly so – it has a solid stream (where water flows all year round), sky pools and a lush spring, prehistoric caves (with remains of ancient man), historical sites (remains of terraces, flour mills, water canals, diversion dam and bridges) – and a variety of lovely points for picnics.
And beyond all that, it is simply a perfect area for hiking, offering a variety of trails that include clear, cool and refreshing water, surrounded by greenery and shaded all along their entire length.
