Eilat is renowned for its pristine beaches that stretch along the sparkling shores of the Red Sea. With crystal-clear waters, soft golden sands, and a vibrant underwater world, the city’s beaches offer a haven for relaxation, water activities, and sun-soaked enjoyment. In this post, we will highlight some of Eilat’s most stunning beaches while exploring their unique features and popular activities.
It is important to note that all the beaches in Eilat are well-maintained and offer facilities such as restrooms, showers, and beachside amenities. They are accessible to the public, but some may have entrance fees or specific regulations due to their ecological significance.
Eilat Beaches
There are seven main beaches in Eilat:
Coral Beach:
Coral Beach (in Hebrew: “Almog”) is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and snorkeling enthusiasts. This beach boasts a stunning coral reef, a designated nature reserve, just a short distance from the shore. The vibrant marine life and colorful corals make for an unforgettable underwater adventure. Visitors can rent snorkeling gear or join guided tours to explore the reef, marvel at the diverse array of fish species, and witness the beauty of this protected ecosystem. For those who prefer to stay dry, a glass-bottom boat tour provides a window into the underwater world without getting wet. Coral Beach also offers facilities such as sunbeds, showers, and a beachside restaurant, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for beachgoers. Keep in mind: the coral beach is undeclared, so it does not have lifeguard services. Entrance to it is paid.
Mykonos Beach:
If you want to feel as if you hopped on a quick flight to Greece without getting on a plane, Mykonos Beach is the beach for you. The beach is located inside Coral Beach and has an authentic Greek atmosphere. There is a Greek restaurant in the place where you can enjoy an abundance of dishes from Greek cuisine such as souvlaki, moussaka, and Balkan shakshuka.
Mosh Beach:
For a more vibrant and social beach scene, Mosh Beach is the place to be. Located in the heart of Eilat’s hotel district, Mosh Beach offers a lively atmosphere with a range of activities and entertainment options. The beach is lined with beach bars, restaurants, and vibrant beach clubs, creating a vibrant ambiance for sun-seekers. Beachgoers can lounge on sunbeds, sip cocktails, and soak up the energetic vibe. Mosh Beach is also a hub for water sports, including jet skiing, banana boat rides, and parasailing, providing thrill-seekers with an adrenaline rush. The beach offers a variety of dining options, ranging from casual beachside cafes to upscale restaurants, ensuring that visitors can indulge in delicious cuisine as they soak up the beach scene. Entrance to the beach is free.
Lighthouse Beach:
Those who are looking for some peace from the hustle and bustle of the city, are welcome to come to the lighthouse beach (in Hebrew: “Migdalor”). The beach, which is located near the border with Taba, is the closest one to the coral reserve. You can rent snorkeling equipment and watch beautiful fish swimming in the clear water. There is a beach restaurant and a chillout bar open all night, showers, and toilets. Please note that there are no lifeguards on the beach. Entrance to the beach is free.
Palm Beach:
Palm Beach is named after the impressive palm trees that are planted on the shoreline. It is a clean and tidy beach with toilets and showers, a floating tanning raft, a Bedouin tent, a water sports center, a diving club, and a restaurant bar. There is no doubt that when you get here you will feel like you are on a real vacation. Entrance to the beach is free.
Village Beach:
The Village Beach is a place for young people, thanks to bouncy music and a lively atmosphere. If you feel like it, you can show off your fitness with volleyball nets, or simply laze peacefully in the sun rafts. On the beach, you will find a bar restaurant that offers refreshing drinks in the morning and turns into a cocktail bar at night, running beach parties until the wee hours of the night. Entrance to the beach is free.
Mika Beach:
Mika Beach, also known as “the Asian beach,” offers a unique blend of stunning coastal views and mouthwatering Asian cuisine. Located near the Mika restaurant, this beach provides a peaceful atmosphere with white umbrellas and comfortable chairs. Indulge in a rich Asian menu that includes sushi and other delicious dishes, and enjoy the convenience of ordering food directly to your tanning bed. Immerse yourself in the serene ambiance, relish the flavors of Asia, and make the most of your visit to Mika Beach. Entrance to the beach is free.
Whether you are seeking a tranquil snorkeling adventure, a family-friendly beach day, or a lively beach party atmosphere, Eilat’s beaches cater to a variety of preferences. Dive into the turquoise waters, relax on the soft sands, and immerse yourself in the beauty of Eilat’s breathtaking coastline.
