We took a tour of the city’s long and varied beaches, from south to north, to check where the young people lie in bikinis and surfing shorts, which beach has the best waves, the highest rated restaurants, and where you can burn some calories in new sports facilities. Here are our favorite beaches in Netanya.
Sironit Beach – The Most Touristy
Sironit Beach is probably the most popular beach in Netanya and has become known in recent years as the “French beach” due to the French language that can be heard at every point of it. The fitness facilities and restaurants (which are closed on Saturdays), in addition to the accessibility made possible by the elevators on the nearby Herzl Beach, add to its popularity among other populations as well.
In the morning, an older crowd fills the beach and comes to stretch their limbs and enjoy the temporary tranquility of the early morning hours. All in all, this is a beach that is especially suitable for families, with breakwaters, ‘pools’ for the little ones, and active lifeguards, which allow for a calm and peaceful family outing.
The beach is located north of Herzl Beach, at the foot of Rishonim Promenade. You can descend to the beach by elevator, or by a steep walk. In front of the beach, some breakwaters create calm water, and it includes restaurants that hold summer entertainment programs.
Poleg Beach – Loved by Everyone
Poleg beach, located in the southern part of the city, near the Ramat Poleg and Ir Yamim neighbrhoods, pampers the visitors as one of the wider beaches in netanya. The beach serves as a well-known swimming spot for local young people, but not only for them. Families are also very fond of the spacious beach, which offers in addition to sports facilities, volleyball and football fields, also a declared area for motorized water sports, which includes Sailing, jet skis and kite surfing.
On days when the winds are high, you are likely to see a bunch of surfers here. and in case you a hungry, the Bamboo Village restaurant on the beach is very popular, and attracts many diners who enjoy a varied menu during the day, and a lovely sunset during the evening.
“Amphi” Beach – Perfect for Surfing
If you fancy a challenging marine activity, then the “Amphi” beach is the beach for you. The best surfing beach in Netanya – named after its location below the amphitheater of the city – is also considered one of the best in the country. Surfers of all ages come here, with the windbreakers providing a great surfing environment (especially when the wind turns southeast).
On the beach there is a water sports club, a diving shop and a training center for diving, sailing and other marine acticities.
Neurim Beach – Most Relaxed
The northernmost beach in the city (near Havatzelet Hasharon, under the jurisdiction of Emek Hefer Local Council), is officially called “Metzukey Yam Beach” but is better known as the “Neurim beach” after the police holiday village which is located in it.
As the only regulated bathing beach between Netanya and Beit Yanai, it is a relatively narrow beach, especially loved by the young people of the area who fill it up on weekends. The beach offers a relaxed atmosphere without a lot of background noise. Even though there is no breakwater or rescue center on the beach, it is quite popular for families. There is a surfing center and a restaurant there.
Other Beaches in Netanya

Sironit B Beach, located south of the city’s main beaches, is also home to the local police station, surveillance and rescue point, beach management offices, and fitness facilities.
Argaman Beach is located near the Goldmintz House, a military leadership course base, which is the reason that the beach attracts many soldiers. It is a narrow and beautiful beach, neat and secluded. On the beach are a restaurant and a lifeguard tower.
Herzl Beach is located on the central strip of beaches next to Amphi Beach. The beach is located near Independence Square, next to Herzl Street. You can descend to the beach by elevator, which is an attraction in itself.
Sanz Beach is located near the Galey Sanz Hotel. Sanz Beach is a beautiful beach, designed for the religious public, with steps that go down all the way into the water. At the beach there is a separation between women and men as well as a strictly kosher kiosk.
Blue-Bay Beach is the northernmost beach in Netanya, adjacent to the Blue Bay Hotel. A beautiful and calm beach, surrounded by many rocks, which makes it a good beach for fishing.
Onot Beach is located below the Onot (Seasons) Hotel. The beach can be reached via stairs leading from Shaked Promenade on Nitza Street. It is a beautiful and popular beach among locals, visitors, and tourists. It is a vibrant beach with a restaurant, music, beach dancing, and various ball games.
