A hike in the Israel National Trail will take you to a lot of wonderful places, countless fascinating experiences, difficulties, and victories – and amazing sections of green, water, and desert between different climatic zones along with Israel. But as they like to say – an experience is incomplete if there is no one to share it with, so it’s time we talked about finding an Israel National Trail hiking partner.
True, it is possible to travel the INT alone, but it is much better to do it together.
Have a nice conversation in front of an amazing view, make coffee together or cook on a fire, and of course, share the weight of carrying the tent…
So for those of you who are looking for a friend to share this journey with, want to add a new friend to the mix, or join one of these mixes yourself just a moment before a group is setting out – but do not know where to find one or the other – it’s time to explore all options for finding a hiking partner for the Israel National Trail.

By and large, even though we are a startup nation and all that, there are not many places where you can find travel partners, and believe me, I was looking for the depth and breadth of the web.
Here is what I was able to find:
“Lametayel” Partner Search Forum
I kind of do not like the outdated format of a forum, but there is no doubt that the hiker’s forum of “Lamtayel” – an Israeli nature and hiking gear shop – is a great place to leave a message and be exposed to similar people who are looking for partners for the Israel National Trail.
The annoying part – you need to sign up for an account.
Shvilist’s Facebook page
Another great way to find hiking partners is to write a short post on the Facebook page of “Shvilist” – one of the best and oldest Hebrew sites on the Israel National Trail and other hikes in the country. The page has more than ten thousand followers, all of whom are amateur hikers, so this is a perfect place to find companions for your hike.
A good thing there is that unlike the forum format, to which you have to subscribe specifically and go through a few steps to leave a message, on Facebook everything is instant – both the writing of the message, and the ability of partner seekers to see who it is, and whether its a fit or not.
You can go to the page and just write a post on the page – even if you do not find a partner immediately, ask for the admin’s help – they are usually nice about sharing the post and helping it reach the right people.
